We know it has been a long time coming. Those who lived their childhood on Blizzard’s point and click adventure, Diablo II have been awaiting the launch of the third Deckard Cain littered tale of Diablo’s reign of demonic creatures. It isn’t here just yet, but we’ve played its most recent beta build, and we have a lot to share.

It took us longer that we had hoped to see this screen. And we would see it more than we would have liked to

Gaming Gods: Shinji Mikami

Legendary game producer, Shinji Mikami, has been under the spotlight of our judgemental selves for many, many years. The man is most notable and well known for creating the Resident Evil series or video games, or Biohazard for you Japanese loyalists. Most will know the man solely for his hand in creating a pioneering game of the late 1990’s and won’t know of just how his ideas came to mind, how he created them, and just what he was doing before he became the ‘Gaming God’ we focus on today

Shinji Mikami was born and raised in the Yamaguchi prefecture of Japan in August of 1965. Despite his rather young looking face, Mikami is a 46-year old man who only began working in the gaming scene during the summer of 1990 at the age of 25. History of a Hero: Alucard

The Castlevania series has been long in the making. Debuting in 1987, the Belmont clan began their crusade to rid the world of the evil, resurrecting demon king, Dracula. Our focus of the week didn’t come into the long lasting franchise until much later. At least not in a central “hero” role. Spell it backwards people. Today’s focus is the secretive Alucard.

History of a Hero: Cloud Strife

He may be getting rather old now and not one to have seen the light of day in a while, but enough fans have screamed for Square to remake his game whether they screw with a classic or not. His creator may no longer be with the company, to move on to better things, but that doesn’t mean he is any less of a hero with his down time. Today we look at non-other than the steel swinging soldier – Cloud Strife.

Cloud was a character none were really expecting from the start. During the course of his debut title, Final Fantasy VII, Cloud seemed completely normal and not all that mysterious. And he himself probably thought the same. As an ex-fighter for the SOLDIER group, a mercenary army of genetically created beings, Cloud had escaped the organisation and revolted against it’s governing body corporation, Shinra as it attempts to use the planets “Life Energy” as a power source. Now part of the AVALANCE band of freedom fighters, essentially an environmentalist group, Cloud set out to stop the Shinra company in their tracks.

Cloud’s overworld appearence was backed up with 2D image scenes

Pokémon Black & White 2: Our Return To Hoenn?

With each new Pokémon game of the main series, fans try to determine which new features will make their way into the game and which key features of the past will return. Since the beginning it has been a staple custom for each generation to get two games from the start. Two versions separated by minor exclusive Pokémon and a few other aspects. Later on, the games are concluded with a single third title aimed to elaborate slightly on the story and offer a more robust experience as the wait for the next generation begins. So what should we be hoping for in the first direct sequel to a main series Pokémon game?
