Back during E3 2009, even before Final Fantasy XIII had hit shelves, the Sony keynote was hit by a surprising re-entry from Sony head, Jack Tretton who had left the stage after closing the keynote. Tretton continued to talk about the work of Square Enix and formally announced FFXIV to be released in the same year as XIII without mentioning the fact the title was an MMO; the crowd had good reason to be shocked.
Final Fantasy XIV was released close to a year ago in the same, rugged form us beta testers had the trouble of playing with, this led the game to receive a lot of negative reception and, after Square Enix announced a multitude of plans for the game, it subsequently fell off the face of the gaming news world.
So what ever happened to Eorzea?
